“It’s a treat to see Hugh Jackman in such an up-close-and-personal setting. The actor doesn’t disappoint.”
New York Stage Review
Jon is an acclaimed novelist, a charismatic university professor, and a middle-aged man staring down the end of his third marriage. Enter Annie - nineteen years old, a star student and a huge fan of Jon’s work. An undeniable attraction draws them into dangerous territory. With Ella Beatty and Hugh Jackman, the US premiere of award-winning playwright Hannah Moscovitch’s Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes takes us down the most slippery of slopes and will have you questioning your perspective throughout.
“Ella Beatty delivers halting vagueness so precisely, she fulfills the play’s plan perfectly.”
New York Times Critic’s Pick
Following an extraordinary inaugural collaboration last year, Audible Theater and TOGETHER, the theatrical partnership led by Sonia Friedman and Hugh Jackman, are pleased to announce the return of Hannah Moscovitch’s Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes with Ella Beatty and Hugh Jackman, and directed by Ian Rickson, to launch their 2026 season. Performances run March 17 – April 20 at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre in New York City.
“This two-hander, which can now be listened to in full on Audible, may be Moscovitch’s greyest (and greatest) work yet.”
