Dreamgirls UK Tour - Trainee Wig Assistant

We are inviting applications for Trainee Wig Assistants to work on the forthcoming production of Dreamgirls, on tour in the UK.

This is an entry-level position, for individuals from any field of hairdressing or barbering and who may be interested in working in the theatre industry. It is an ideal opportunity for someone to gain hands-on experience in theatre and learn on the job in a paid, fixed term capacity.

Responsibilities will include working as part of the team in the maintenance, repair and dressing of wigs and hair on the production, working with performers prior to and during rehearsals and performances and other performance-related activities and working as part of a team.

All candidates must be willing to tour with the production and be available to start work from November 2021 onwards. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds but, for this position, we particularly welcome applicants from backgrounds that are currently underrepresented in our industry.

Head of Automation

Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for Head of Automation on the London production of The Book of Mormon.

We are seeking applications from individuals from all backgrounds, with complementary experience and skills, for the position of Head of Automation.

Responsibilities include the maintenance and operation of the automation equipment for the production, overseeing the automation operation, and working within a team to ensure that the show’s automation requirements remain true to the original concept.

Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional theatre experience in automation, the ability to work under pressure and within a team, good interpersonal and communication skills, strong organisational and time management qualities and leadership skills, including experience in people management and the running of a department in a similar environment.

Other responsibilities include dressing performers prior to and during rehearsals and performances and other performance-related activities, working as part of an efficient and successful department and liaison with all other departments on the production and associated personnel.

Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional experience in a wardrobe department, a high level of sewing skills, the ability to work under pressure and within a team, good interpersonal and communication skills as well as strong organizational and time management qualities.

We are seeking a Technical Assistant Stage Manager (Book Cover) on the London production of The Book of Mormon.

Responsibilities include providing practical and organisational support to the director, choreographer, actors, designers, stage crew and technicians throughout the production process, assisting with rehearsals, communicating and coordinating with all departments, prop maintenance, show calling, and ensuring that the production runs smoothly, safely and efficiently.

Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional theatre experience in stage management, the ability to work under pressure and within a team and good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong organizational and time management qualities.
